Student Portal Overview

The Student Portal is a dedicated space where families can manage everything related to their lessons. Here’s what they can access.

Portal Dashboard

The dashboard gives families a quick overview:

• Upcoming lessons with dates and times
• Recent attendance records
• Weekly practice summary with progress bars
• Progress cards for each student in the family (color-coded for multi-student families)

Schedule

Families can view:

• A monthly calendar of all upcoming lessons
• Lesson details including time, duration, and location
• Whether lessons are in-person or virtual
• Open lesson slots they can book (if you allow drop-ins)

Practice Logging

Students can log practice sessions directly from the portal:

• Built-in timer for timed practice sessions
• Manual entry for sessions done offline
• Category selection (scales, repertoire, sight reading, technique, theory, ear training)
• Weekly progress tracking against goals

Progress & Gamification

If gamification is enabled, students see:

• XP and level progression
• Achievement badges they’ve earned
• Practice streaks (consecutive days practiced)
• Leaderboard (studio-wide or class-based)
• Quests assigned by the teacher

Assignments

Families can view and complete assignments:

• See all current assignments with due dates
• Check off individual assignment items as they’re completed
• Track completion percentage
• View assignment details and instructions

Resources

Access shared teaching materials:

• PDFs, audio files, videos, and images
• Search and filter by type
• Download files directly
• View external links shared by the teacher

Messages

Two-way communication with the teacher:

• Send and receive direct messages
• View broadcast announcements
• See pinned important messages
• Search message history

Billing

View and pay invoices:

• See all outstanding and past invoices
• View line item details
• Pay online via Stripe (if enabled)
• Track payment history

Profile

Manage account settings:

• View family contact information
• See all students and their details
• Change portal password
• View makeup credit balances
