Quests are practice challenges you create for your students. They add a game-like element to practicing and give students concrete goals to work toward.
Creating a quest
- Go to a student’s profile (or the Quests section)
- Click Create Quest
- Set the quest details:
- Title (e.g., “Scale Master”, “Practice Marathon”)
- Target (what the student needs to do)
- Deadline (when the quest expires)
- XP reward (bonus XP earned on completion)
- Click Save
Quest target types
You can set different types of targets:
- Days practiced — Practice on X number of days (e.g., “Practice 5 days this week”)
- Total minutes — Log X total minutes of practice
- Category minutes — Log X minutes in a specific category (e.g., “30 minutes of scales”)
- Session count — Complete X practice sessions
Quest templates
For common challenges, you can use quest templates to quickly create quests without filling in all the details from scratch.
Individual vs. studio-wide quests
- Individual quests are assigned to one student
- Studio-wide quests are available to all students and create a shared challenge
How students see quests
In the student portal, quests appear on the Practice page and the Dashboard. Students can see:
- Quest title and description
- Their current progress (e.g., “3 of 5 days completed”)
- Deadline
- XP reward
Achievements
Achievement badges are automatically earned when students hit milestones:
- Practice streaks (7 days, 30 days, etc.)
- Level ups
- Quest completions
- Total practice hours
Students collect badges on their Progress page, which adds a fun collection element to their practice journey.
