Marking Attendance
SchedulingOn this page (6 sections)
Attendance tracking helps you keep records of which lessons happened, who showed up, and maintain accurate billing.
How to mark attendance
There are two places to mark attendance:
From the Calendar
- Click on a lesson in the Calendar
- Select the attendance status:
- Present — Student attended
- Absent — Student didn’t show up
- Excused — Student missed with a valid reason
- Optionally add a note
- Click Save
From the Dashboard widget
The Unmarked Attendance widget on the Dashboard shows all lessons that haven’t been marked yet:
- Find the lesson in the widget
- Click Present, Absent, or Excused
- The status updates immediately
You can filter the widget by date and use bulk select to mark multiple lessons at once.
Attendance notes
You can add notes when marking attendance — useful for recording what was covered in a lesson, or the reason for an absence.
Viewing attendance history
Each student’s profile shows their complete attendance history. You can see:
- Date and time of each lesson
- Attendance status
- Any notes you added
Attendance and billing
If you use attendance-based billing, attendance records directly affect invoice amounts. Only lessons marked as “Present” are included in the billing calculation.
Marking attendance is optional but recommended. It helps you track your teaching history and is essential if you use attendance-based invoicing.
