Setting Up Stripe Payments

Nova uses Stripe Connect to process payments. Once connected, families can pay invoices online with a credit or debit card, and funds are deposited directly into your bank account.
Stripe payments require a Pro or Studio plan. You can upgrade from Settings > Subscription.
Connecting your Stripe account
- Go to Billing in the sidebar
- Click Billing Settings (gear icon)
- Click Connect with Stripe
- You’ll be redirected to Stripe to create or connect your account
- Follow Stripe’s onboarding steps (business info, bank account, identity verification)
- Once complete, you’ll be redirected back to Nova
After connecting, you’ll see a green Connected badge in your Billing Settings.
What families see
When you send an invoice, families receive an email with a Pay Now button. Clicking it opens a secure Stripe Checkout page where they can enter their card details. You don’t need to handle any payment information directly.
Stripe fees
Stripe charges standard processing fees (typically 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction in the US). Nova doesn’t charge any additional payment processing fees on top of Stripe’s rates.
Payouts
Stripe deposits funds into your connected bank account on a rolling basis (typically 2 business days after payment). You can check your payout schedule and history in your Stripe Dashboard.
