Feature Toggles

Nova has several features you can toggle on or off depending on how your studio operates. This keeps your experience clean — only see what you use.

Available toggles

Go to Settings to find these feature toggles:

Student Portal

Turn the student portal on or off for your entire studio. When off, families won’t have login access.

Practice Logging

Enable or disable practice logging for students. When off, the Practice page is hidden from the student portal.

Gamification

Turn the XP, levels, streaks, and achievements system on or off. Some teachers prefer a simpler portal without the game-like elements.

Makeup Credits

Enable makeup credit tracking. When off, the makeup credits widget and credit management are hidden.

When to use toggles

• New studio? Start with the basics (scheduling, billing) and turn on features as you need them
• Young students? Turn on gamification for engagement
• Adult students? You might prefer a simpler portal without XP and streaks
• No makeup policy? Turn off makeup credits to keep billing simple

How toggles affect the portal

When you turn off a feature, it’s hidden from both your teacher view and the student portal. No data is deleted — if you turn a feature back on, everything is still there.
